About Us

When a large buy-sell-trade store in Denver closed in the summer of 2020, Nadia MacKinnon saw the opportunity to create a truly inclusive, transparent, fun, and environmentally sustainable secondhand store in the city. These were the seeds that grew to become Strawberry Mountain.

The search for the right location for Strawberry Mountain started and ended with Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe. Located in Lincoln Park, one of the oldest Latine neighborhoods in the city, this neighborhood was the center of Denver’s Chicano rights movement (el Movimiento) in the 1960s & 70s and has remained a longstanding creative and cultural center for Denver. It was the perfect place for a Latina-owned business like Strawberry Mountain to take root.

The plan started coming together as Nadia began sourcing inventory from all over town — she even bought clothes on her front porch. She and a small team got to work outfitting the location at 825 Santa Fe Drive with decor and fixtures inspired by the 1980s and the art of Patrick Nagel. Geometric pastel murals set the tone for this fun, bright space.

Strawberry Mountain officially opened its doors on January 1, 2021 and has been going ever since! The team has grown from a one-woman operation to a full staff in less than 2 years.  We’re proud of our success and what we’ve built so far, and are so excited about what the future holds for the business and our community.

Teamwork, honesty, trust, growth, and kindness are at the heart of this operation. Our hope is to make a difference in the shopping habits of Denverites through education and leading by example.

Slowing down fashion is a serious necessity to secure a happy and healthy future on our planet for all who live here. We alone may not change the world, but we believe it’s important to be a part of the solution and help inspire others to do their best as well.

Our Mission

Strawberry Mountain’s goal is to up-level the buy, sell, trade fashion market in Denver. With fashion and sustainability top of mind, Strawberry Mountain is a destination for fashion lovers who value the importance of a sustainable wardrobe comprised of recycled and second hand pieces. Whether you’re looking to switch up your wardrobe or downsize your belongings for a boost in the bank account, this is the place where self-expressive, fashion-forward, minimalist, and maximalist dreams can come true!

We believe in paying a fair price for our merchandise and charging a fair price in return, fostering sustainability awareness, and sharing love & light with all humans.

If you are a local artist, business or entrepreneur and you’re interested in collaborating with Strawberry Mountain, please send us an email! We’re excited about community building and we love featuring locally made goods in our store!
